Strobe at dusk

I just thought I would throw this in there an effect that could be used for a fashion shoot or whatever.
Here is the original. I like to undre expose the sky a little so the subject just pops out.
Nice color contrast between the direct sunlight on the trees and the color temperature of the strobe.
I like using strobes but I prefer to use monolights as opposed to the speedlights because you have much more choice as in how you modify the light and you can get much more power from them.

Portrait of an artist

Scott Canterbury Campbell was born on Long Island, New York in 1963. and in the summer of 1977 move to his mother’s birthplace, Clarksville, Texas. Son of a aerospace technician and grandson of a master carpenter and wood carver, Scott continues the tradition of working with his hands in wood and other creative mediums in his laboratory/workshop to create contraptions to use in his photography and around the house.
An early interest in photography developed as Scott’s older brother George photograph him for assignments in photography classes. This was endorsed in high school when the yearbook coordinator took Scott from a study hall class and put him in the darkroom. Scott soon converted a bathroom at home into a darkroom.

Graduating with top honors from Kilgore College in Kilgore, TX, he received an Associate of Applied Arts in Commercial Photography under the direction of O. Rufus Lovett. He continued his education attending many workshops including the Ansel Adams Friends of Photography and has studied with Ruth Bernhard, John Sexton, Michael Kenna, Ray McSavaney, Dean Collins and True Redd. He has also attended the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation in Pittsburgh, PA focusing his skills on digital imaging process controls and color management.

Working as a commercial photographer at one of the largest digital photography studios in East Texas for over 24 years, Scott developed and implemented many successful digital workflow processes for Dynamic Resource Group, the company he works for. Specializing in product illustration, food, and fashion work, he splits his time between photography and digital imaging/color management consulting.

His personal work is included in many public and private permanent collections, and he has been widely exhibited across the country.

He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Kilgore College Photography Program and the Board of Directors of the Texas Photographic Society, and he teaches workshops through their yearly events.
